When I went to the store yesterday, light bulbs were on my list of things to buy, I hunted thru the store for the elusive display; why is it that what you want always seems to hide?

At last I found them, and not just a display for a wall of lights stretched out before me; I could not believe there were so many choices, high and low, as far as the eye could see.

I found the ones that I was looking for, the one that gave three levels of light, but even then there were many that did the same thing, which would be the one that was just right?

You had to look closer and read the fine print to know what each one would really do, the expensive ones had the prettiest packaging, but the best light came from the simple generic ones, the ones on the bottom, almost hidden from view.

It made me think of how I was, the person I used to be, when I used so much
energy to make things look all right, for the packaging was all people would see.

It was all a sham, this lonely life, and hidden inside was a hurting heart, but
no one could see it, for no one really looked, until I met Jesus, who said 'I care, let Me give you a new start.'

I only had the tiniest smidgen of faith that I could ever have more, but I said 'yes' that day, and Jesus transformed my life, He gave me wings and taught me to soar.

I learned to have hope, and to dare to dream, to look forward to things out of sight, for I learned to trust that God's way was best, with Him I could climb to new heights.

After a time, when He saw things were just so, He gave me the desire of my heart; the one thing I had dreamed of, but never thought I would see, a love from which I would never be apart.

He brought me that someone who looked further in than the outside packaging would show, and I learned then that love sees the true you
that might be hidden, and that's who you wanted to know.

And when I looked up, and saw in your face a reflection of the love that was on mine, I knew that I now had a gift beyond measure, a love that would last for all time.

I thank God each morning for taking my heart, and making it over brand new, and for giving me such joy every day, the life full of love that I have with you.
