Ground 1: 

Am I Mothering Based on Fear?

Isaiah 41:10
"So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
     

     The first ground we come across today that enters into our ever so delectable cup of Jo is fear. Oh Mommas, how the devil loves to throw grounds of fear in every way, shape, and form into our cups. We see the fear of failure, loneliness, improper education, not raising them up the way God has intended, proper nutrition, and ruining our children. There are so many fears out there. However, God has already told us His cup is free and perfected, and he combats all fears the devil tempts us with.
     Let us take a look at an amazing example in the Bible, Isaiah.  Isaiah tells the nation of Israel who have been exiled to not fear no matter what storms they face, because God has the strength and power to get them through any obstacle that comes their way. All they have to do is have the faith that He can and will. He tells them to not be anxious or worried (dismayed) because God is capable of anything. He will provide all needs necessary to accomplish His Will. If God calls them to go somewhere, or do something, He will give them strength from His mighty hands because they are incapable of doing it themselves. He is just that powerful, and He wants us to rely on His strength. Finally, he proceeds to address the Israelites by saying that God is going to guide them through any and all areas they cross, and with His strength, guidance, and protection, He will accomplish His Will.    
     Wow! Mommas, how relatable to our mothering journey. Can we not relate to the Israelites? Some days, whether we are first-time moms, middle-of-the-road moms, or seasoned Moms, we just don’t know what to do, or we have encountered storms that we know we cannot face alone. But, this verse gives us encouragement. We are told that God is with us, not to be anxious. He will strengthen us, help us, and carry us through the good, the bad, and the ugly parts of Mothering, because He is our God.
     Mommas, doesn’t this just bring a sense of peace to you? It has me wanting to drop to my knees and say Thank You, Father. Thank You for Your strength because I know I cannot do this gig on my own. The gratitude this verse brings into my heart is overwhelming.
     My ground-free coffee couldn’t taste any better, right about now. 

Dear Precious Heavenly Father,

      We are coming to You today to ask You to replace our fear with strength, comfort, and guidance from You. We know You love us so much You will protect us from evil if we put our faith in You. Thank You. We love You. Amen.
