With Mouth and Heart

If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9 NIV

Some might say “but what about obedience to Christ?” It is true that in living the life of a Christian that we do our best to be obedient to Christ. But there will be times when we fail. Does that then disqualify us from salvation? No! If we believe in our hearts that Jesus is Lord, when we sin, we will feel remorse and seek forgiveness and restoration unto the Lord. We also must proclaim with our mouth that Jesus is Lord. One day every knee on and under the earth shall bend and every mouth shall proclaim that Jesus is Lord. Let us do that now as we live, knowing in our heart the truth of the matter. We are only saved through Jesus Christ.
