Jesus Increased In … In Favor With God And Men

One of the ways to increase in blessedness is to increase in obedience and being subject to all that is good.

Children who are obedient and subject to their parents have more chances to grow up to be a blessed person for the love, caring and instructions of the parents are meant to shape a child towards a blessed future.

“Then He went down with them and came to Nazareth, and was subject to them, but His mother kept all these things in her heart. And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men.”

Luke 2:51-52 (NKJV)

 Obedience is one of the most blessed and vital attribute required for us to be blessed. It comes with complete subjection, surrender, honor and respect towards them who have instructed. It also instills faith in them who have required obedience from us.

 Our Lord Jesus Christ was a perfect example of this and thus He grew in favor of God and men.

• Adam fell before God and was cast out of the Garden of Eden just for disobedience.


• King Saul was rejected by God just for disobedience.


• Jonah had to be redirected via a special dispatch (a big fish) just because of his disobedience


• Samson ended up in trouble just for disobedience.

And there are many more examples…..

To obey OR disobey is a choice we make and may God give us the wisdom, courage and guidance to obey and be subject to all that is good.

 One of the most blessed examples in the Bible is that of Joshua who did mighty conquests and led the people of God to the promised land and this is what the scriptures has to say about him….

“As the Lord had commanded Moses His servant, so Moses commanded Joshua, and so Joshua did. He left nothing undone of all that the Lord had commanded Moses.”

Joshua 11:15 (NKJV)

The opposite of Obedience is ‘Rebellion’ and we shall chose to disobey or rebel against God and all His goodness at the cost of our own destruction and ruin.  

God has a plan for us and its needs our Obedience to be implemented and worked out in our life.

Let us always obey and thus blessed we shall stay.
