Prepare your heart
To fill a spiritual need
Put away jealousy, malice,
Envy and greed
Ask for forgiveness
To put away your sin
Then open your heart
To let God’s word come in.

Holding bitterness inside
Is just taking up space
All the lies and deceit
You need to replace
Make ready your heart
To hear God’s voice
Put away all evil
And make God your choice.

Clean up your heart
Take this time to prepare
Then accept God’s word
And make others aware
Prepare a foundation
Make sure it is strong
Invite God in your life
You will never go wrong.

Prepare your heart
And let God come in
Ask for his forgiveness
He will forgive all sin
That’s the first step
In preparing your heart
It is never too late
For you to start.
