Be Encouraged Today. Your help is in the Lord

Have you ever received directions from someone but got lost anyway? They told you to make a right and instead it should have been a left. You ended up somewhere in Osh Kosh. LOL. Don't you just hate it?

You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the greatest and first commandment. And the second is like it, you shall love your neighbor as your self. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. Matthew 22:37-40

Following God's direction is really easy and always on the money. Here is a little secret I'll share with you. I have absolutely NO sense of direction at least thats what my husband Roy tells me. LOL I thank God for giving me a road map (the bible) to help me along the way. If it wasn't for God's Word, I would really be lost. Really! Scripture tells us to Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight. Proverb 3:5-6 Friends, God will never steer you in the wrong direction. God is very explicit with how He wants you to act and live. All you have to do is take the time to read and follow His ways. But like many of us who work full time, have families and a bizzillion other things to do, we'd rather take the short cut. And, if we are not careful we might just find ourselves lost and walking on a totally different path aside from the one God has planned for us. Many times it will be a path that leads to destruction. Let me tell you this, God said if we would acknowledge Him, He will make our path straight. You see, God thought of everything, He made His instructions really simple to understand so we won't get lost. He gave us His Word (the bible) to follow.

Following the greatest and first command to love God with every fiber of our being should not be very difficult, especially if you look at all that God has done for us. The second part of the commandment, loving your neighbor as yourself, well, this one is a little more difficult. Let me ask you this question. Would you steal from yourself? Would you slander against yourself? Would you say unkind things about yourself? I sure hope you said NO. I think you get the message. Oh, by the way your neighbor doesn't have to be the guy living next door to you either. It can be your friend, brother, sister, aunt, uncle etc. God promises to keep us on the right path and this is where it starts, with His Word. Are you ready for the trip? All you have to do is take God's direction with you all the time and follow them. Place them in your heart so that you can bring them up at any time you think you're lost. The Holy Spirit is also with you and if you ever feel like your getting lost, stop and ask Him for directions. He will be more than happy to give them to you again. He will guide you on the right path. You'll make it, just follow God's instructions. If you do make a wrong turn along the way, take out the map again (your bible) and read the directions over again. And, don't forget to ask for wisdom too. God said He would never leave or forsake us. Glory be to God! He has not because His Word will endure forever. Be Encouraged Today written by Jeanette
