Have you ever asked yourself the question why redemption had a price on it that could only be paid by the death of Christ?
Then I’m forced into another question, and that is why would he do this for me, for who am I?

The requirements of God’s Law could not be met for Adam fell no one else was qualified for these requirements to be satisfied.
Jesus Christ came to fulfill the Law’s rigid requirements, but all this for me? Who am I?

A King, a Prince, the Son of God condescending to the form of a man, whom Pilate and the High Priest would condemn to die.
This makes no sense why he would do this for me, a man vile, corrupt in his mind, content to live without him, for who am I?

The bible states that his visage was marred beyond any other man, beaten, and then with two thieves crucified.
I can’t imagine having to go through this for someone I love, much less for one that cared naught for me, for who am I?

He was tempted of the devil, after fasting for forty days offered all the kingdoms of the world, choosing rather to die.
I have not resisted unto blood, I have not lost any goods of this world, my path has been peaceful, but why, for who am I?

He cast out devils of the man dwelling in the tombs, only to be asked to depart from their presence and life.
Yet he never wavered, or faltered in his great commission, for he had one goal and that was me, but who am I?

He raised up the rulers daughter only to be laughed to scorn when he told them not to worry, she was going to rise.
This was God in the flesh, being laughed to scorn by common people. He endured all this for me, but who am I?

He tried to turn the people to look toward God as he told them there were many lepers in Israel, but none were cleansed, and to hear these words that were true, they despised.
He placed his mighty power however on a gentile and healed Naaman the Syrian of his leprosy just like he healed me, but who am I?

These thoughts can go on, and on, and on, in a never ending cycle when thinking about his sacrificial life.
But I believe I’ll stop here and praise him for his wonderful grace that saved a wretch like me, but still who am I?
