Reaching out for the harvest

 Do you not say, ‘There are still four months and then comes the harvest’? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest!  And he who reaps receives wages, and gathers fruit for eternal life, that both he who sows and he who reaps may rejoice together. For in this the saying is true: ‘One sows and another reaps.’ I sent you to reap that for which you have not labored; others have labored, and you have entered into their labors.”

John 4:35-38 NKJV

The Lord’s primary concern is the salvation of our soul, and thus He ensures that all the resources required for us to believe and accept Him as our Lord and Savior is made accessible to us. We need to decide for a ‘Yes’ to accept or a ‘No’ to reject the kingdom of God.

The work of the kingdom is not a one man show. One sows, another reaps, yet all are equally honored and blessed. All that we do from all that has been given to us by Lord towards the kingdom plays an active and major role for salvation of the lost.

When we ourselves experience the salvation of the Lord, and when hope and strength becomes part of our life, when the schemes of the devil against us is no more functional, not only do we thank God for this blessed state He has placed us in, we feel compassion for them who are still away from God, missing all these blessedness, and we pray and endeavor for their salvation.

This is what Jesus felt when He looked at the crowd:

^“But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd.”

Matthew 9:36 NKJV

Men are after many things, things which will eventually never benefit their souls(classified as ‘nothing’ by Jesus in John 15:5), and the message of the good news have to be conveyed to them using all the talents and opportunities the Lord provides us.

Here’s how Paul explains the evangelism process:

How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher?

Romans 10:14 NKJV

We need to preach by all we have and that includes our very life, the goodness of the Lord to others.

Only one thing can satisfy the human soul… and that is a personal relationship with God ……and they should know this.
