I Searched High And Low

There are some things in life which we can never tell anyone else but ourself. Some secrets that we can only share with our hearts and minds.
But even in this secrecy, there is someone who knows our all. Because God discerns the mind and searches our hearts. It is He alone who can find not just our deep inner core but he is also the one who can find the jewel sparkling in us. And we are definitely of the greatest value in his eyes far worth more than any priceless pearl.

We make so many promises in life not to others but to ourselves. Some we keep and some we break. Some promises make us stronger. Others we find that when we break them we were far happier than when we followed their strict terms.
Some people promise never to shed a single tear even in the face of adversity and they do stand tall to this promise keeping it with great courage and grit.
But one fine day, their own resolve weakens and I guess the heart too needs a break from being overly brave and it is good at times to give in to our tears and let it flow.
Just like a person who loves to take long breaks and seriously such a person one fine day needs a break from taking breaks.
Similarly, we have to give our hearts a break and let the emotions steam out, allow the tears to crystallise the eyes and our face to hold the beauty of such tears for some time as it gently glides down.
Because all said and done, the heart searches for an outlet for the feelings moving within. Sentimentalism is at its best when it is given the freedom to express itself.

Recently watched a movie which touched me profoundly on the heroism of Unrequited love. People can love with tremendous fervour even when the love of their life sees them as just a friend. Though they are together and the person who is in love knows that he has found his soulmate, his partner is still searching for the perfect love when in reality what she already feels for him is a manifestation of a great love in itself.
Still yet there are others who cannot be with the ones they love and yet this love not just extends over barriers of miles and space but keeps a steady growth every new day.
At times we are so aware of the people whom we love that the moment they are in our vicinity we can feel their presence even before we turn to behold them.
There may also be instances where we rush eagerly to meet our loved ones but do not find them in the place where we come looking for them.
As we read in Songs of Solomon 5;6; "I opened the door for my lover but he had already gone. How I wanted to hear his voice! I looked for him but couldn't find him."
But even such separations are temporary because lovers eventually find each other and meet up again. Their hearts are like a compass that always points towards the other.
A couple who once drifted apart over many years and reunited once again found the answer they were looking for all along. They knew that this comeback had made a great difference in their lives and given it the soulful meaning which was missing when they were away from each other.

The Love of God can be seen in all the above examples. He loves us even when we do not reciprocate, when we leave Him alone on the Cross. He searches our hearts daily to find a space for him in it, to know that we hold him above everything else. He searches our minds to find if the Word of God is dominant in our waking moments.
He does not stop searching nor gets tired but keeps looking for a loving glance from us, a prayer raised to Him above, our presence at the foot of the Cross, our willingness to accept suffering and carry our own cross. He also wants to find joy in our hearts, the peace of knowing that He is in control from above and we need not fear anything.
He wants us to find the Kingdom of God within us and harvest in it. He wants us to work at it untiringly as He keeps pouring anewed grace in us each new morning to accomplish all for his kingdom on earth.
As in John 4:23; “But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him.”

The three kings searched high and low for the Saviour when he was born and they found him as God sent his star to guide them.
When we search for the Truth with all our might, God sends his star in any form to guide us and lead us to the manger where He awaits our visit. At that moment, we ourselves are the gold, incense and frankincense that we can offer to Him.
We read in Deuteronomy 4:29 “You will seek the Lord your God and you will find him, if you search after him with all your heart and with all your soul.”

People search high and low to experience heaven on earth, to search for true love, to find beautiful relationships with loyal friends. They get all these and more when they realise that God has already given them all this and it is in front of their eyes. All they have to do is reach out and allow themselves to not just feel these lovely sentiments but in turn give others heart felt moments so that they too can find what they have been searching for and it is always about Love. Because Love keeps us going and alive. It is Love that God pours into our hearts so that we can love him first in return.
Love keeps the Universe moving and yet in place. It is the most priceless treasure both on earth and in heaven where we will one day truly see Love face to face in the eyes of the Lamb of Love.
