NEVER OUT OF TOUCH





I worked on a dairy farm in Texas for a while and received God and an abundance of “Spiritual Food” while there, so no matter how close or far away I was, I still needed my “farm fix” at times and the telephone my life line to the farm.
We moved to Colorado for a time and while there I witnessed God pull off one of his greatest miracles for my family.
When my oldest daughter, Michelle, got married, she and her husband came to Colorado to live with me. They wanted to begin a family right away but due to Michelle’s battle with Endometriosos, several doctors told her she would never have children. PLEASE! Apparently those doctors didn’t know God.
She asked me to pray for her and as I did so, God reveled to me that Michelle would soon be pregnant. About three weeks later my daughter begin to get queasy in the mornings and I told her she was going to have a baby. My daughter was a bit doubtful at first but as time went by she knew that God had truly healed her.
She had a healthy pregnancy but her labor was very long (19 ½ hrs.) and difficult as the baby had gone into respiratory distress. The baby was delivered by C-section and beautiful, dark eyed Vania Ruth came into this world. We were all so excited, cooing and ahing over Vania, not knowing that the next twenty-four hours were to turn into a nightmare.
Our baby was born on August 25, 1986 on a Tuesday at approximately 6:30pm. It appeared that our little girl was born with a hole in her heart and was having problems breathing. That evening as her mother was feeding her our baby stopped breathing and had to be revived. The next day, Wednesday, Vania stopped breathing again and once again was revived, so now my granddaughter had died twice within her first twenty-four hours of life.
Because we lived closer to the mountains then a big city, our
baby had to be life-flighted to the Pedi-Care hospital unit, in Colorado Springs, for preemies and other troubled babies and our baby was certainly in trouble. As soon as that chopper took off (about 5:30 pm) Wednesday evening I was on the phone calling for some of my “spiritual food” supply. YEP! You got it! The dairy farm. “Please help my granddaughter, she’s dying.” The time was about 6 pm Colorado time.
I never saw such strength and faith as my daughter had at that time. If she cried I never saw it because she said, “I won’t worry and I won’t cry because I won’t be able to hang on if I do. I know that God is taking good care of my baby and she will be ok.” I was never so proud of Michelle as I was right then. We prayed. We got results. That’s the way God works you know.
As Michelle had had a c-section, she was unable to go with her daughter so the doctors at the Pedi-Care hospital called her every hour to give her a report of the baby. About 10pm that night the doctor that was taking care of Vania called Michelle. This was the message: “ As soon as your baby got here we started taking x-rays of her heart and lungs every hour . The last x-rays we took showed us there was nothing wrong with your baby. We don’t understand what happened but it appears that you have a very healthy baby. We will keep her here till Saturday for observation, if all is well by then , come pick up your baby. That is just what we did. ALL WAS WELL!
Here it May, 2004, and that little dare eyed beauty has turned into a beautiful young woman about to graduate from high school and embark on an awesome life. She wants to go to law school and be the first female President.
“ And behold there cometh one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jarius by name: and when he saw him he fell at his feet. And besought him greatly, saying my little daughter lieth at the point of death. I pray thee, come and lay thy hands on her, that she be healed; and she shall live.” Mark 5:23
Thank you Lord for your wonderful guardian angels. They have helped my family through so much and like the “energizer bunny”, they just keep going and going.
