Seek His Presence

Religion is just works
That will never satisfy
It just takes us through the motions
Yet on the law we seem to rely

Programs and rituals
Are all just dead
God desires that each of us
That by His Spirit, we be led

It is the Spirit alone that gives life
Life comes from no other place
There are many substitutes in the world
That will keep us from our true race

We teach walk the word
Do this or do that
Yet the best thing that we can do
Is bring God’s presence to where each is at

God’s presence changes people
God’s presence will set men free
After being in His presence
You will be different than you use to be

Oh that the church could realize
That all the religious works are but vain
That the focus must only be
To bring God’s presence and rain

Somehow we seem to forget
That it was by grace that we were saved
It was nothing about our works
So it takes grace for us to be raised

There is healing in His presence
There is joy that gives us strength
There is deliverance from the bondage
There is peace in our mind to think

It is all about his presence
No works can take His place
He does the changing and empowers us to walk
And puts joy in our hearts, and a smile upon our face

Seek His presence more than anything else
It is there that you will find the latter rain
Anything short of His presence
Are all just works, that are just vain.
