It’s hard to believe we live in a world
with so much hate and fear.
I see this world before my eyes falling apart
and the truth; it’s deprived, it makes me cry.

A raging war, battles for my soul
and surging thunder roars in my mind.
Much like a storm, it rocks me to the core
and everything that I sense, is mystified.

It’s cold and it’s lonely out here on my own,
on the road that stains the centre of my soul.
I close my eyes, shed a tear and wish the world away.
Even so, the pain is endless to remain.

I open my eyes to search through the night.
Untainted truth is what I need to find.
Teardrops begin to fall from my weary eyes.
I catch a glimpse of a crushed man crucified.

Strangely, I’m stunned with wonder
at this confrontation that stings my pride.
Who could this be calling out to me?
I’m convinced clearly, it’s Jesus Christ.
