Man's best wisdom can never even come close to God's even if He were void of it.

An attempt to fool God is the biggest foolishness in the world.

The Pharisees and the Herodians at the time of Jesus tried to catch the Lord in His words and were trying to treasure a reason to accuse Him and thus they now wanted to check on whether the Lord Jesus was in favor of paying taxes to the government.

"Shall we pay, or shall we not pay?”
But He, knowing their hypocrisy, said to them, “Why do you test Me? Bring Me a denarius that I may see it.”

Mark 12:15 (New King James Version)

I am not sure what answer they expected from the Lord, were they waiting to hear a 'No' so they can say that He is a law breaker and a teacher of blasphemy or whether they were expecting a 'Yes' and asking Him for His income tax returns.

Jesus gave them a commendable answer for them to learn and also for the whole world to understand and which was appreciated by all.

Jesus called for a coin (denarius) not because He had not seen one earlier, rather He wanted all the people who had seen it earlier, now to see it carefully once more.

" So they brought it. And He said to them, “Whose image and inscription is this?” They said to Him, “Caesar’s.”
And Jesus answered and said to them, “Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.”
And they marveled at Him."

Mark 12:16-17 (New King James Version)

Jesus not only encouraged them to pay their political dues, rather he also reminded them their duties towards the Lord God.

Its good that we give importance and follow all the rules of the nation we live in, however are we also following on the rules of God's kingdom?

Its not enough that we are a good person as per the political records of our country, we need to receive a similar certificate from God.

The Bible has the wonderful example of Job about whom the Lord said....

Then the LORD said to Satan, “Have you considered My servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth,
a blameless and upright man, one who fears God and shuns evil?”
Job 1:8 (New King James Version)

Can the Lord testify similarly for you? Are you walking in His commands? Do you take care that you follow the Lord's ways in your life?

There is but one life and we have to live it in perfect harmony with the Lord to reach the eternal bliss.
