I love to play with words on the screen,
putting them places they'd never been...
wanting new ways to say I LOVE YOU!

Put them in a puzzle, words up, down, around,
link them together, say something profound...
but all I want to say is I LOVE YOU!

Put them in a letter, sentences on a page,
will the words be wise? Will I be a sage?
no...I just want you to know how much I LOVE YOU!

Put them in a poem, let them start to rhyme,
Thoughts and feelings written, forever on the page...
joyous words to say how much that I LOVE YOU!

Somehow little poems came to be the way,
that I could express my feelings for you, day after day...
each new way to say how very much I LOVE YOU!

Words flow from my fingers, feelings old, yet so new,
Trying to capture in words a heart full of joy so true...
let you know again...oh, how much I LOVE YOU!

Words just seem to be too small, like little bitty cups,
and I pour into them my feelings, filling them right up...
gathered up to tell your heart how much that I LOVE YOU!

Every day when I wake, I will bring my words anew,
and try to say a brand new way all that I know is true...
that I have all the blessings just because of loving you!
