THE THIRD ANNUAL FAITHWRITERS'
PAGE TURNER WRITING CONTEST
2009 - CHRISTIAN FICTION
FaithWriters.com and Finesse Writing and Editing Service are pleased to announce the third FaithWriters' "Page Turner" Writing Contest--this time for all the fiction writers.
If you are a member of the FaithWriters 500, you are invited to enter this very special contest created just for you.
So, if you've got a half-written manuscript gathering dust in the bottom of your wardrobe, or have had an idea for a novel brewing in the back of your mind for years, this contest is just the spur you need to get writing--and we'll even give you ten months to do it.
All you need to do is write the first chapter of the novel of your dreams, together with a brief synopsis of the entire story, and then submit it for the 2009 Page Turner Writing Contest.
One entry will be chosen as the FaithWriters' Page Turner Champion for the year, with the author receiving:
1. Free editing of their manuscript (up to 300 pages);
2. A fabulous cash prize, that could be used toward the cost of self-publishing their finished book;
3. Free publicity and marketing of their book on all FaithWriters' sites (including FaithWriters' Magazine) for 12 months once it is published;
4. A press release to announce their win to the world;
5. A press release to promote their book when it is published; and
6. A special "Page Turner Champion" award plaque.
Two runners-up will also receive FaithWriters' "Page Turner" Highly Commended award plaques and the offer of half price editing for their manuscript.
WHAT CAN YOU WRITE ABOUT?
This year, our focus is on fiction--of any genre. However your novel should be suitable for Christian readers. Other than that, let your imagination be your guide. We will be looking for the entry that has the greatest "page turning" and publishing potential.
Although there won't be a set word count, it should be kept in mind that entries will comprise of the first chapter only (and a brief synopsis). So although your finished manuscript may end up being the size of Gone with the Wind, don't try and cram it all into the opening chapter.
