The son of Christian Missionaries to Zimbabwe Africa, Sheldon was Born in Ohio, then raised in Florida and has extensively traveled the United States. He served in the US Army in Korea just out of High School, after which, he grew fond of learning, continued his education and became a voracious reader and writer.

Sheldon volunteers at Wheeler Mission Ministries in Indianapolis, leading Bible Studies and mentoring homeless men. He's very engaged in muliple community functions and supports several charities. He also Mentors men coming out of Prison through the National Guardians Program.
