Writing, singing and playing the piano are my expressions of the joy God has given me...and a large dose of humor!
"The joy of the Lord is your Strength." Neh 8:10 KJV. I could not possibly be who I am today if wasn't for my Lord giving me His joy. His strength has more than sustained me and my family. I (and our entire family) have experienced such numbing heartaches, and attempted paralizing death-blows that we stand in awe that we are still here to testify of His grace.
He is my reason for writing, singing and breathing. I love Him with all my heart. It brings me such pleasure to uplift others, bring a smile to their face and a frequent chuckle in their heart. How can I hold back the joy the Lord has given me and not hopefully lighten someone else's day or moment?
Life is precious. How, and what we choose to do with our life to bring glory to God is up to each us. Joy is the place live, and His strength keeps us there!
Loretta Keener is originally from Tulsa, Oklahoma, raised Assembly of God as an only child in a minister's home. She now resides in Oklahoma City with her husband of 36 years where they enjoy their three grown children and their families. Of course we can't for get their two dogs are part of the family as well, Ginger and Mr. Biggs.
Loretta is an ordained minister with River of Life Ministries, Inc., and has served in the capacities as pastor's wife, evangelist and praise & worship minister. She is the founder of the Bold 'n Beautiful Women's Ministry.
From a heart filled for ministry, Loretta has been blessed from the Lord gifting her with many talents as she continues to use them serving in God's kingdom. Her love for music has afforded her opportunities to serve joyfully as a pianist or organist, and to sing also. Whether it is at camp meeting, convention, church, or at home you will find her near a keyboard somewhere. Currently Loretta is a member of the Country Music Singers Association in the Heartland Opry.
The Lord has given her a psalmist’s heart; her first published song was, “Anthem of Praise”. It was chosen out of hundreds of submissions from across the United States given by members of the Pentecostal Holiness. She was honored to have her song chosen for publication. The Holy Spirit has given her several new songs over the past several years that she hopes to produce her own songbook collection of her own one day.
Loretta enjoys writing, and has written poetry since childhood; she has several poems published in the United States, and in Europe. At present she is working on more projects for publication such as devotions, articles, and books; and currently working on starting a ministry blog post on-line.
More than anything Loretta loves to be in the presence of the Lord. Psalms 16:11 "Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence [is] fulness of joy; at thy right hand [there are] pleasures for evermore." KJV
She isn’t always serious, actually, quite the opposite. Loretta enjoys brightening someone’s day with a little laughter, or a smile.
