Thanks for the welcome. I've submitted a writing challenge entry for the past three weeks. I received the highly commendable award for the first week. My entry was titled "Seething" for the topic "Grr." That was fun to write. Have we not all been there?
My goal is to enter the challenge every week, no matter what. I need the discipline and the challlenge. It's great to be a winner but greater is the writing. If you set a realistic goal and meet that goal, you have won. You will find the gold inside you.
I feel like I've found a long lost family. I love you all because as writer's we understand one another. But mostly for the love of Christ that abounds in your written words. And, altho we may never meet in this life we can look one another up when we are living in Heaven and won't that be a hoot?!!
Thanks

Welcome aboard Sandra.
I did the "Every Topic" thing for my first year here, it was rough at times, but well worth it.

Hi Sandra. You would love the conference in August. It's like a family reunion, and it is very much that coming together of people who know where you're coming from and don't roll their eyes whenever you talk about writing.
The discipline of the Challenge is really the reason we have it. Whether you win or not, it's that act of writing to topic, word count and deadline each week that helps hone your skills.
Then if you read loads of other people's entries and ask yourself why they do or don't work, that will help you grow as well. It's all helpful.
Anyway, congratulations on that first highly commended.
Love, Deb
