“Yes, I do live in a nice home. The evenings are so pleasant, sitting in the rocking chairs on the back porch, and watching the sunset over the peaceful water. Did I what? Thank God? Well………no, but He knows how much I like it.”
“Do I have plenty to eat? You know I do. I have a fully stocked pantry. Thank God? Sometimes I remember to give a prayer of thanks before I eat. At holidays, my family ALWAYS says Grace.”
“Thank you, I like the color of this blouse too. Where did I get these clothes? I went to the mall last week. No….you know the store did not give them to me. I bought them. With money, of course! Thank God for the money? I forgot.”
“You saw my husband yesterday? I know he is a great guy. We have been married for several years. Yes, he makes me laugh too. Thank God for my husband? No……but God knows I’m thankful!”
“Did you ask, where I am going on vacation? My husband and I are traveling to Montana to see the grandkids. You’re right, they are a lot of fun at this age. And, they are both healthy and SMART! They take after my side of the family you know. Thank God? For my grandkids? Well, I’m sure I have in the past. Thank God? That they are healthy? I guess I forgot to actually stop and say “thank you.”
“Oh, I didn’t realize that you knew my twin sister. Yes, it has been a blessing. We have been best friends since the day we were born. Did I thank God for blessing me with a twin? I think so. I’m sure I must have.”
“This certainly is a beautiful day! I just love autumn days with cool breezes. The trees are so pretty with their leaves changing colors. Yes, I did notice those wildflowers. And, I hear a bird singing. Look, the bird is sitting on that top branch! Isn’t it a lovely color of blue…..did I what? Thank God for the ability to see the trees, smell the flowers, and hear the bird? I haven’t yet, but I will.”
“Yes, I hear you. I know, you are right. We have a God that deserves all of our love, and appreciation. What? Would I be insulted if someone treated me the way I treat God?”
“Yes.”
