My son and I looked at each other and burst out laughing because to us, we were still on flat land. We had grown up at the base of the majestic Rocky Mountains. When you entered the small canyon near our home, even while walking you noticed the steep incline. Sightseeing or camping near great granite cliffs and deep glacier lakes, now those are mountains!
It was a good laugh for everyone when we explained the type of countryside to which we were accustomed. In reflection, we look at the mountains of our life and those of others in a similar way. What looks huge and insurmountable to others, are a mere incline to some. When you have spiritually climbed to the highest peaks and explored the valley floor, sometimes a disaster is nothing more than a dust storm to another.
