Collect shells. Swim. Torment the crabs in the rock pools. The day she would not go home until her Dad found her an octypus – and he did.
The dolphins. Sandstorms. Laughter. Bonfires. New Year. Friends. Family.
It was a special place.
She grew up by the ocean.
The majesty and power of it inspired her.
It reminded and left her in awe of her Creator.
She returned, whenever she could, to this faithful friend.
She would walk along the beach and cry to her Father.
She vented her frustrations and fears.
She would ask questions.
Sing praises to her God.
She would run and splash and laugh.
Chase and be chased by the tide.
And the dog.
She would sit on the rocks.
Be still and lift her eyes to the heavens.
The tears would roll.
Life was fast paced. In the city.
A far cry from where she was brought up. A small, coastal village.
She would place her trust in her Father – again, and thank Him for times like these.
Times of refreshment.
Reminders of His love. His provision. His concern over the smallest details in her life.
Her heart’s desires.
Though away, she carries these memories within.
This is her secret place.
She grew up by the ocean.
The majesty and power of it inspires her.
It reminds and leaves her in awe of her Creator.
He is her rock.
He is her fortress.
In Him will she trust.
