As she lay dying, he began to cry.
She whispered in his ear, “There’s something you must know.
Tuck this truth in your heart. It will leave footprints in your soul.”
“Life is like a rose. There’s beauty among the thorns.
Always trace a rainbow when you face your storms.
Take the good with the bad.
Give God thanks for what you have.
Then you’ll always find the rose among the thorns.

The little lad grew and so soon became a man,
Losing his footing with foolish dreams and plans,
Familiar with the dark, he thought crime would pay.
Until the long arm of the law captured him that day.
He was sentenced to die on a cross called Calvary.
Hanging right beside him was the Man from Galilee.
Mercy drops fell from His body bruised and torn.
Heaven stood still when he saw the Rose between two thorns.
Out of death came life when the Rose wore the thorns.
Heaven came to Earth the day that He was born.
Trampled by the feet of men,
The Rose lives and blooms again.
Heaven helped us all the day the Rose wore the thorns.
Yes, Heaven helped us all the day the Rose wore the thorns.
The long arms of Love captured him that day.
When the Rose picked a flower for the Master’s bouquet,
