Topic: ABSENCE MAKES THE HEART GROW FONDER (02/28/19)
Images of You reside in my mind
Yet these images are etched in my heart
These images are clearly defined
Yet images can be eclipsed by reality

Moments of joy bubble forth from within
Yet the joy can be short lived here
The joy will surely be long lived there
Yet these moments can be eclipsed by reality

Sensations of a soft meaningful loving touch
Your voice is clear forceful yet gentle
A voice that calls me by name
Yet Your voice can be muffled by reality

The ocean is no match for the depth of love
Wave after wave roars loudly in my ears
Love’s tide stronger flows endlessly
Yet the Word can be drowned by reality

Your cataclysmic Word fills my soul
My heart grows bigger by the second
I ponder all day long and reach for my sword
The armor a tool needed which is a stark reality

Majestic overwhelming and impregnable are You
Sovereign Magnificent and ever faithful
Characteristics of You and Your love
Yet the harsh world is and can be a flagrant reality

To be absent from this body is to be present with You
Blessed by grace that proceeds endlessly from above
My heart yearns burns and cries out for You alone
Yet time is not a foe because Eternity is a reality

As I wait and do Your will my heart beats for You
Each day I rejoice at dawn’s refreshing light anew
Promises will be complete when my time here is finished
Paradise alive forevermore my reward and upcoming reality

I do not like 'reality TV.'
I do believe in the reality of eternity in the Father's house.

Beautiful words. The story goes that my paternal grandmother died with her fingers touching that verse about absent from body and present with the Lord. I also long for that day!
