Her shoulders burned with a deep intense ache as did her feet. She’d barely slept, and tossed for a good portion of the night. Her long blonde hair, pulled into a topknot, exacerbated a growing migraine, that longed to make its entrance, and promised to be everything migraines were made of and more… thereby completing her day of woe.
There was entirely too much at stake, it was exceedingly difficult for her to believe that it had come to this. After all of her hard work and dedication, it was horrific on every level, and nauseating to grasp the true meaning of why it was happening in the first place.
The time and effort she’d put into the project was unsurpassed, not one person before her had ever gone this far. Tammy was so enthusiastic from the exact second she gave birth to the idea. She fervently and diligently worked on it from the moment she awoke…and even dreamt about it…hoping to bring it to fruition.
Now the very idea that she was summoned to go before a council was infuriatingly frustrating. But, she had no choice but to comply with their “request.”
She reached for the elevator button, but stopped before pressing it, turning quickly, opting for the stairs instead.
"How could I prove to these individuals that it’s true? How do I express myself in simple terms for all to hear and understand? And, how will I stand up to the giants in the room, giants of the industry who can destroy me and my plans?
She heard a little voice in her mind, “Oh Ye of little faith…”
She looked around quickly, the voice was so powerful, as if someone spoke aloud, and yet…no one was there.
Tammy reached the fourth floor quickly. Taking a deep breath she opened the stairwell door, and made her way to where the council was waiting. As she neared the room, her heart thundered in her ribcage.
She again took a deep breath, this time closing her eyes.
Again, “Oh ye of little faith…”
Tammy’s eyes popped s she looked around and scanned the hallway. It sounded so “real” so close.
“Am I now truly losing my mind? Or is it just a lack of sleep. Yes, that was it, surely it was sleep deprivation. Yes, it does strange and wacky things to a person’s mind.”
But, then again, “I am with you always. Do not fear their faces, I go before you…”
Tammy, although earlier, had felt as if she were losing it, rapidly felt a complete and utter calm transcend over her being. It was a kind of peace that she’d never experienced before. It was warm. It was a soothing and beautiful sensation. It was a feeling that she never wanted to be without. There were emotions that went beyond her scope of understanding. She felt a rush of heady excitement, a joy of celebration, and then a growing, and deeply moving satisfaction, of what could only be described as pure love. And then she dropped to her knees, as it was so overwhelming in every aspect.
It was minutes before Tammy stood and walked into the council. The long dark mahogany table filled the entire room. Faces from every nation were transfixed on Tammy. Each person spoke a different language, and yielded to a certain culture, but all here with the same questions, and for the same reasons.
Tammy walked to the small table directly in front of the crowd. She opened her backpack and slowly took out a huge Rock. She placed it down gently as she took out her papers, explaining her theory of practice, and beliefs…and began to speak rapidly, and without fear.
Wisdom poured from her mouth as she confidently broached the subject matter.
Everyone understood in their own language, no one needed interpreters. It was a phenomenon that became apparent to all who witnessed it. You had to be there to understand.
One word…God.
The goal of unison and peace was accepted by all those present.
Tammy’s original plans and the original reason for being called to the council were no longer valid.
Instead, God, in His Omnipotence, and Sovereign power, took over for His purpose, and His will.
Tammy realized that what she was working on wasn’t hers…but, His all along.
