The young girl waited for her procedure
the nurse led her away to right an "error"

The young man waited for his girlfriend
he threatened her as she submitted to his will

The off duty police officer waited for his coffee
he died instantly as a bullet found its mark

The woman in the nursing home cried softly
unable to speak she continues to be abused nightly

A local atheist gathered around the capitol
protesting against a cross seen from the highway

Three hundred young girls kidnapped
forced to adhere to the rules of the extremists

Bystanders watched as a student was beaten
Cell phones recorded the entire event for posterity

An elderly woman walking gets punched
the attacker laughs and high-fives his friends

A student was shunned and banned from her class
for wearing a tee shirt that said "Christ is my savior"

Black clouds furiously spilled their content
hail stones the size of melons crashed to the ground

The mountains shook as volcanoes erupted
the earth rocked violently as it split underfoot

It is almost time…
God placed His hands over His face

I just happened to be revisiting old Challenge submissions and came across this. You described current events with a paucity of words but with a powerful impact. I love how you make the case, then end with a grand finale.
