I’d have tackled dear Eve to the velvety ground
Before being coerced by the serpent so vile
Which cost her and Adam their gifted life style.
I would’ve begged and pleaded, “Don’t listen to him—
He’s holding a grudge from egotistical sin.
God dismissed the angel with arrogant pride
Disgraced and discharged—Eve, walk by God’s side.”
Maybe curious eyes would’ve widened right then
And clarity and truth would’ve saved her from sin.
The infamous fruit—untouched—still whole—
But no, the tempter put the squeeze on her soul.
If all the “if onlys” on life’s fading pages
Could undo the messes man caused through the ages--
If love were the constant we grasped with both hands
We’d silence all bombing in all foreign lands.
How wondrous and awesome our world could’ve been
If Eve had been strong and not given in,
Her great expectations were driven by greed—
Discontentment grows from a poisonous seed.

Could undo the messes man caused through the ages--" Love those lines - very powerful. Really makes you think about the consequences of our actions. Nice!
