and sparkling in night’s clair d’lune sings, “Mystery is here with me.”
Flames dance and mesmerize the eyes. Bold Passion’s Fire leaps to the sky.
No human heart resists the glow of pleasures calling, “Come and know!”
“Know all you’ve ever wished or dreamed. Taste Fire that shimmers in the gleam
of earthen treasure you may seize. This blaze will please--no boundaries!”
“Yes, swallow now the Fire’s wine. Drink freely! Ride the whirl of Time!
Melt into every pleasure’s ale. Let caution go. Let flesh prevail!”
“Fling headlong into Passion’s Flame! No more be hindered by restraint.
Come in to me!” Soul hears the voice, “You have the chance. Now make your choice!”
And so the human heart steps in, and ventures freely into Sin.
Pulled by sly hypnotizing power, one meets the Flame, lies in its bower.
The thrill of Sin’s sweet passion warms and strokes the weak one with its charms.
Intoxicating ecstacy! Until the Flame reveals Hell’s heat!
Raw fiery fingers find the neck of Soul who lies with Sin outstretched.
Hot suffocating breath of Hell engulfs its prey, breaks now the spell.
Wide-eyed, the poor fool sees his shame, shrieks in the Blaze, writhes in the Flame!
Escape is gone. No flickering hope. Hell’s mouth is wide. Steep is the slope!
Then from the depths of this sad Soul comes forth a cry to God alone,
“Save me! Oh, Father God above! Oh, Save me! Save me by Your Love!”
Amidst the Flames of Hell’s vast Lake, a trembling shudder, a sudden quake
shakes all the evil kingdom ‘round. It is a roaring Heavenly sound!
A Whirlwind fiercer than all storms of every age in a twinkling’s formed,
and blows through every rising Flame with Rushing Wind and Spirit Rain!
With agonizing flesh on fire the human cries into the spire
that rises in the Tempest’s flow and wraps his burning, scarring Soul.
“Hush now, my Child,” the Dear Voice says, “Hush now, and rise from this dread Blaze.
You now are Mine and Mine alone. Come now with Me. I Am your Home.”
The Savior’s Tender Words rain down. The grim Flames flee. Each spark is drowned.
As Jesus gently lifts the Soul whose flesh lies burned from Hell’s black glow.
These Tender Hands move sure again across the deadened Soul’s charred skin,
and like the leper years before, with Christ’s dear Touch, Soul stands restored!
“My Holy King!” Soul bows and weeps as tears flow now upon the Feet
of his Dear Savior, Christ the Lord. “No other One has Loved me more!”
All Heaven opens with the Song, “Hell’s fiercest Fires all are gone!
Creation, Praise! The Battle’s Won! Soul is now Safe! Christ’s Work is Done!”
