who cries out to the Lord
for help and deliverance
It takes strength of character
to admit one’s needs
He’s no weakling
when he admits his wrongs
or sins
and seeks forgiveness
from God and others
He’s no weakling
when he asks for direction
instead of treading
foolhardily
into the unknown
He’s no weakling
when he is quick
to listen
but slow
to speak
Oh that you would be
silent
and it would be
your wisdom
says Job of the ancient
Let me not presume
to teach
for I’ll be judged
more strictly
I too may stumble in words and ways
I’m not ashamed
to be weak
I want to see the strength
in others
and accept their help
Help me to ask
Help me to seek
Help me to knock
that I may find the way
the truth and the door to Life
Blessed are the meek
for they will inherit
the earth
and God’s kingdom
with the poor and those who mourn
