The Lord’s my teacher
an apt metaphor
for my journey of faith in life
like Abraham and Issac
From Moriah
I learn to trust
despite the situation
does not make sense
or out of sync
At Moriah
I wait
for His provisions
at His design
in His time
On Mount Moriah
I stand
on the solid Rock
resting on His promises
and sovereign grace
Yes Moriah
reflects confidence
and goodness in God
despite the darkness
of times I live in
There’s much
to learn from You Lord
Help me not to be a mule
to be held
by bit or bridle
Teach me
and lead me
in the way
I should go
on You alone I fix my eyes
I once strayed
from Your path
but now I am found
I have learned
the hard way
May I draw near to You
in faith and confidence
knowing You will not
turn away
those seek after You
I lift my eyes towards the mountains
from where does my help come
my help comes
from the Lord
who cared for Abraham and Isaac
NB: Moriah, in Hebrew, means My teacher is Yahweh.
