more real than surreal
at its entrance babbling brooks
and gurgling steams greet me
while watering and draining the ground
gentle breeze blows, brushes
caressing my face
swaying palms of all shapes and sizes
dancing gracefully with percussions
of rustling leaves
In the middle
flows a crystal clear river
so inviting
that I want to swish, swoosh
and swirl
myriad colourful flowers
and their fragrance
permeating the whole place
enchanted by the soft touch and smooth feel
of the freshly fallen petals
At the corner
is an orchard
full of luscious peaches, prunes and pears
I can eat of any fruit
from any tree the owner says
Before leaving
I hear my heart praying
there are things in life
best to be left alone—
How I long to return to the garden
Father, please help me
not to eat
the forbidden fruit
but to cultivate life
around me intentionally
