As I look over the past year, once again, I’m grateful for many blessings. God has been so gracious to me. First of all, I married the man of my dreams.
What? I didn’t even know she was dating. Wow!
I met him on the senior dating site, Grumpy Old Men and Gloomy Old Maids. He looked handsome in his picture, and he said in his profile that he enjoyed sunsets, quiet evenings, long walks around the sewer plant, and doing Scooby-Doo impressions. He also said he does odd jobs and listed some examples: dog walker, turtle walker, cob web remover, and he builds things with toothpicks and popsicle sticks.
Huh? I can’t believe what I’m reading. I wonder if she needs to be on some sort of medication.
For our first date, he picked me up in the Oscar Meyer Weiner truck. We went to the insect museum, and then we stopped at a cafe for some yummy squirrel stroganoff.
Ha ha. That’s so far-fetched that she has to be kidding. What a hoot.
We dated for six months. Then he proposed while playing the accordion and singing his own lyrics to the tune of “My Country ‘tis of Thee.” “My girlfriend Natalie, how much I think of thee, so here I sing. I’d feel so good inside to have you by my side. Will you please be my bride and wear this ring?”
This is priceless. I didn’t know she could be so funny.
I hope you’ve had as much fun reading this letter as I had writing it. I thought it might be fun to do something different and catch you off guard. Now onto the real news of my year.
