Your life is ahead of you, and it will be filled with learning experiences. Hold onto the good times, and soak in everything you can from them. I feel I should advise you, though, about how to handle some of life’s obstacles and setbacks.
Hard things will happen, and when they do, be gentle with yourself. Do your best, yes, but don’t be overly critical of yourself, and don’t judge your ability to cope with difficulty. Instead, find strength in the Lord, let others speak into your life, and cling to what nurtures and comforts you. Draw close to God. Don’t let adversity make you doubt his love. Don’t turn away when you need his strength and guidance the most. Nestle in and let him blanket you with peace.
You may lose things that are important to you. This might be anything from a job to a personal possession to an ability. So be sure to appreciate what you have while you have it, and embrace what you can do while you’re able to do it.
People will hurt and disappoint you. Pray, find your healing place, work toward forgiveness, and move forward a little stronger. Don’t let the words or actions of others steal your peace and joy. Let the Lord lift you above what might otherwise tear you down.
In the midst of hardships, celebrate the little things like a personal victory or time with a cherished loved one. Enjoy a sunset, soothing music, or a few minutes to reminisce about something that makes you smile. Much of life is the little things, so make the most of each one.
I hope implementing this advice will help you cope during the tough times that are sure to come. Meanwhile, seek God’s direction, make the most of every opportunity, and enjoy every positive experience. You won’t regret getting the most possible out of life.
