Who loved Fred: a feckless young boy
But Fred didn’t see
Just how great they could be,
And Fred treated her like a toy.
Joy did everything that he said
She even dyed her blonde hair red.)
But Fred’s love wasn’t true
And that made Joy so blue
She determined she’d soon turn his head
So, she baked him a special confection
And imbued it with all her affection
She made Fred a tart
Filled with love, from her heart
And prayed that he’d change his direction
Fred tasted her tart and said, “Eewww!
This is not something I’d want to chew.”
He spit it right out
Then poor Joy had no doubt.
That Fred’s love would never be true.
Joy cried, but asked Fred to depart.
She felt true despair in her heart
But she looked at that treat
And she thought “if I eat
This; my healing might start.”
So she picked up her fork and she ate.
And the love from that tart, on the plate
Crept up into her soul
And made her feel whole.
And her new life began, on that date.
Does someone need a smile? She will give it;
And bring grace and God’s mercy with it.
She brings hope to the the lost
Without counting the cost.
You don’t need to seek love when you live it!
