This scene is playing out all over the world today. You've captured it well in this well-written entry. Likely, scene two would have had the MC sitting silently at the table while Nora and her mother sent and received texts between bites. This entry is a sermon in a nutshell, as well as an alert to parents. Thanks for sharing.

Congratulations on your 9th place finish this week, CD.

Unfortunately, texting does have many side effects. I think reading, playing outside, and using your imagination to name a few.

We didn't have microwaves, dishwashers, big screen TVs, or DVDs either.
Congratulations, C D, on your EC for this tender story reflecting the impact technology is having on many families. It's astounding how rapidly technology has changed since I was a child.
I absolutely love this. It feels do heartfelt. A 6 yo seems a bit young to understand texting and passing notes in class, but times do change quickly. Congratulations on your EC!
