For this subject, I knew someone would write of Jesus continuing to sleep during the violent storm that arose...and why not, it is a perfect example of an insouciant attitude toward a circling storm. I love this biblical story for often we think God has abandoned us when a storm hits, but only in the storms can our faith be put to the test and have us remember God is with us in the storms as well as in the calm times. He never abandons us! And as your story shows, the men tried to handle it themselves instead of calling on Jesus right away. I think you painted a realistic picture and especially liked the mens rising fear played against the image of the fish being so tossed about, as to be lost again to the sea and the rising need to sacrifice cargo to save themselves. Great job and I really enjoyed the read!
Wonderful recounting of a well-loved Bible story. I love the way you build the tension.
Very descriptive work, especially the part about Simon suddenly finding no waves under his oar. Great touch of humor there!

You really made this story come alive for me.
