From the invention of the telescope in the early 1600s, man has discovered far more of the universe than can be seen with the naked eye.
Recently, a group of Australian scientists was able to view a portion of space previously concealed by our Milky Way. Imagine their surprise when they discovered 883 formerly unknown galaxies. This cluster of galaxies is so large that its gravitational pull draws us towards it at 1.2 million miles per hour.
While man is still discovering stars, Isaiah tells us God calls them all by name. He leads them into the night sky by their ranks. He holds each one in its special place by his strength alone. By his unfailing power, he musters every star into its position.
Tonight, go outside and join the millions of men before you who gazed in wonderment at the stars but remember this: The God who holds each star in the sky is the one who holds you. In the beginning, during the creation of the world, the stars were only an "also" but he created you in his image.
