God flung countless stars across our sky?
When the sun by day, the moon by night,
Would've been enough to give us light?
Why did he make the ocean waves blue,
And paint sunsets with a brilliant hue,
When he could've made life bleak and gray,
Our lives but a stream of gloomy days?
Why form the puma, the platypus,
The sloth, and the hippopotamus,
When a pony and a sheep or two
Would've been simpler than the whole zoo?
He made woodpeckers, ducks, and eagles.
Cockatoos, owls, herons, and seagulls.
When our world would not have seemed narrow
Had the only bird been a sparrow.
Do you suppose the master artist
Just didn't want to stop once he'd started?
Let's add a little more here and there.
Giving to their world a bit of flair.
Did God create with boundless relish
And his work carefully embellish,
To pour on us a life filled with zest,
Once we grasp how lavishly we're blessed?</center>
