The One who is High and Lofty,
And of angels' praise is worthy,
Inhabits all eternity,
And yet,
He dwells with the humble in heart.
And those who've let courage depart,
He revives and gives a fresh start.
Time began when he created
The earth and all that's related.
With one word, darkness abated.
And yet,
From the earth's dust, he designed man,
Giving life as only God can,
And set in motion his great plan.
He sits upon the firmament,
Stretching out heaven as his tent,
His eyes surveying man's events.
And yet,
Though as grasshoppers in his sight,
If we wait, he'll increase our might,
Then like the eagle, we'll take flight.
The mountain peaks, his footsteps know.
His word directs the rain and snow.
At his command, the fierce winds blow.
And yet,
When his people cry in distress,
For them, he breaks the gates of brass
And fills the hungry with goodness.
He is so holy, good, and just
That righteous judgement simply must
Come on all who betray his trust.
And yet,
He lived to die on Calvary,
Rose from the grave in victory,
So we might from sin, be set free.
The Lord's glory will be revealed.
His great power he'll swiftly wield.
Every man before him must yield.
And yet,
With great care, his people, he'll feed
All, old and young, he'll gently lead,
And by his strength, supply their need.
He'll return upon a white horse,
A sword from his mouth will enforce
His righteousness with mighty force.
And yet,
His Bride's tears, he'll wipe away,
Remove from over her death's sway,
And dress her in finest array.
