He speaks so soft and low,
I’m about to make a choice,
On the road of which way to go.
My Lord tells me to take the narrow,
And leave the wide behind,
He’s guiding me with His arrow,
With words of wisdom so kind.
I listen to my soul’s instruction,
To follow the path God made,
It leads away from self-destruction,
Not joining life’s parade.
I have no qualms about His word,
Obeying His every command,
Knowing the truth of my Lord,
I follow His outstretched hand.
Many nights I lie awake,
To hear the voice of reason,
My very life is now at stake,
I’m in my winter season.
So many years have passed me by,
Wasted with wine and song,
Often I ask myself just why,
My redemption took so long.
In the days of my last breaths,
I lay my sorrow at His feet,
At last I find peace and rest,
Life is now an easy street.
He speaks, I listen, without fear,
There is not a tinge of distrust,
His words of wisdom I can hear,
And follow my Lord, I must.
