And take your ease in comfort in this silken home of mine.
So come in to my lair, I mean my parlor, Mrs. Fly."
"I'm not sure that I dare, for in it I will surely die."
"I can't imagine who would have suggested such a thing!
So find your mate. It will be great to rest a weary wing.
You see how soft, inviting are the strands of my abode,
So don't delay. Come right away to lounge, unwind, unload."
"But we were sternly warned to only rest in bush or tree,
And never in another creature's home we are to be."
"But is the tree not home to caterpillar, bee and bird.
So clearly what you have been told is patently absurd!"
"Just watch how easily I glide within, without these strands.
Come touch one and you'll see that I have no nefarious plans."
"It is, indeed, as soft as you assert. I will return.
My mate is over yonder on that fluffy, verdant fern."
"My love, do come along and see the wonder I have found,
An even softer, more luxurious spot to settle down.
By special invitation, Mr. Spider's home we'll share."
"Is that the one of which we have been warned? We must not dare!"
"My dear, do not be silly. I have touched a strand. I'm fine.
Our Maker did not want to share the best spot to recline.
So come relax in luxury beside your lovely wife.
It's unlike anything you have experienced in this life."
The two returned and settled in to Spider's parlor lair.
It wasn't long before he had them wrapped up in his snare.
In Spider's mighty silken fortress they would have been lost,
Had not their Maker come to break their bonds and pay the cost.
