This morning has already been strange and I’m not sure if I should laugh or cry about it. It started normal enough, with my alarm clock and I got up, like I normally do. Except it was still dark out and I thought that was weird. But for whatever reason, I didn't think much about it and I just started to get ready for the day. Well, I turned on the radio and it wasn't the normal radio guy and then he said the oddest thing. That it was one in the morning. I couldn't believe it! My alarm clock went off a full five hours early. So, there was only one thing to do.
So I reset my alarm clock for six and crawled back into bed. Five short hours later, it sounded again and I got up again and headed downstairs. Mom always makes breakfast for Ayden and me before we go to school and she always insists that we eat it together (though, I don't really mind cause she reads the Bible out loud while we're eating) but today was different. The house was still dark...so I looked outside and both cars were there.
I had learned about this in church. Where everyone got taken in the rapture and I started to panic. I knew I was a Christian but I couldn't understand why everyone else had been taken except for me. So I did the only thing I could think of.
I sat on the floor and cried. And I cried until I heard footsteps coming down the stairs.
It was Mom! She couldn't understand why I was upset until I told her what happened and what I thought. She smiled. And then asked me to go and look at today's date. Turned out today is Saturday. I am such a goof!
Well, Guardian, I guess it goes to show you that next time I need to check the calendar before thinking the rapture happens again.
