The title grabbed my attention and the well-written story held it until the end...I liked how the ending left me with the hope that a man who experienced the reality of death as a part of his daily bread was on the verge of finding eternal life...I loved this story!
I did like this story: maybe it was because I saw a picture of my own dad's funeral, and the men who dug my dad's grave attending the service too... very moving. The way you decribed the size of the casket and the digger's reaction was touching. Very nice story.
I appreciated the gentle flow of this piece, and the wonderful message woven into the story. Thanks!
I like how beautifully you painted a picture of this old-fashioned funeral. Nice work on this creative entry.
Beautifully told. I particularly like the way that this story brings out various meanings of the expression Phew
Such description. I could feel the wind and see everything so clearly. The message was perfect.
I enjoyed this very much! Your story is haunting and sad, but hope waits at the end. Very nice!
What a dear and tender story. You managed to give personality to someone we never think much about--someone we don't often see but whose work is necessary and needed. I liked the part about the grave digger taking pride in his work. I'd never thought in those terms, about the loneliness of the grave digger and how much time he has to think. Very, very well written. Kudos!
You did a good job with the flow of the said everything that needed to be said but it never felt rushed. I enjoyed the progression of the hymn and how it helped to see his need for God.
I loved your story. It is lovely to remember that God apprehends our hearts when we least expect it.
