Oh - this is very sad. You brought out each person's pain that came from a violent act. I love how the little boy spoke truth into the grandmother's life and she was ready to listen. Very good.
Well-written story with a touch of hope at the end.
Very moving. Nice writing.
Such sensory vividness in the opening, so life filled. This opening set such a remarkable contrast for the heart of the story. Very effective.

Deft handling of the contrasting voices.

You handled the "guts" of this tragic story with honest courage and then gave the reader that encouraging word of hope in the close.

Admirable work.
Such a sad story, which is nonfiction to many hurting souls. A well written piece, with a ray of hope at the end.
I found the conclusion to this story very satisfying. You didn't opt for a cheap and easy, "let's all nip outside and feel better about life" Instead you articulated the heavy price of breaking free from such an emotionally crippling experience. Recovery starts with an expression of the will but there's a long road ahead. Wonderfully authentic. Thanks!
