Watched Him grow,
Watched Him play.
From the eyes that glimpsed His power,
In God’s own time,
In strength displayed.
From the eyes that witnessed love,
Beyond belief,
Beyond compare.
From the eyes that noticed truth,
Within His words,
Within His care.
From the eyes that studied faith,
Never failing.
Never ending.
From the eyes that perceived hope,
In spite of men,
In hearts attending.
From the eyes that first saw Him,
The Lamb of God,
The one sinless.
From the eyes that watched Him die,
Fell heavy tears,
Fell bitterness.
From the eyes that viewed His life,
Now scourged with pain,
Now giving grace.
From the eyes that followed them,
To watch the tomb,
To watch the grave.
From the eyes that lingered there,
Filled with an ache,
Filled with a grief.
From the eyes that did return,
Came shock unknown,
Came disbelief.
From the eyes that saw Him rise,
Fell tears of joy,
Fell sweet release.
From the eyes that loved her Son,
A sight anew,
A sight of peace.

I find that its phrasing and word choice flowed gracefully.
