It begins with two people…
Boy, Jack, meets girl, Jill.
They like each other.
They go on dates.
Over time, they fall in love.
Jack proposes to Jill.
She gladly accepts.
Then there are three…
God is brought up early in their conversations.
Both Jack and Jill bring their faith to the relationship.
They go to church together.
God joins the union of their courtship.
He is the glue for keeping them together.
But it still takes a village.
Friends join the couple…
They are there from the beginning.
Jack’s buddies watch him change as his love keeps growing.
Some of the guys stand up with him at the altar.
Jill’s girlfriends giggle and chat about the budding romance.
A few of her friends stand by her side as they wed.
These loyal friends are with them in good times, and bad.
Jack and Jill still date each other throughout their marriage.
But it still takes a village.
Jill’s family members support them…
Jill comes from a small family.
And each one has great interest in Jill’s happiness.
They all really like Jack, and are happy to see Jill so delighted.
Momma passes on cooking tips, and how to keep a happy home.
Papa spends time with Jack to make sure he’s the real deal.
Her sister is her closest friend, and Jill gushes early on about Jack.
It takes a village.
Jack’s family members support them too…
Jack comes from a family with seven kids.
Each has a unique personality, making it easy for Jack to get along well with others.
This robust family has a playful nature, and Jill fits right into the fold.
His mom is first to hear about Jill, and notices how Jack matures into a fine man.
His dad is quick to listen, and gives advice when Jack asks, which is commonplace.
Jack’s brother, Bill, is his closest friend, and the first to learn that Jack is in love.
It takes a village.
Church community celebrates…
Since Jack and Jill began dating, the church congregation supports their friendship,
Throughout their courtship,
During their engagement,
And throughout their marriage.
The church offers monthly married couple gatherings to keep the sparks alive.
Jack and Jill look forward to their monthly date night with friends.
It takes a village.
It takes a village for a marriage to thrive…
They gather together in God’s name.
Jack and Jill find the love and support of people they know,
And meet new helpmates on their journey.
Jack and Jill feel the love and excitement from all those around them.
During good times, rough times, and everyday times, they never walk alone.
With God as their glue, and friends and family too,
their marriage has a rock-solid foundation.
It takes a village.

I really liked your line "God is the glue," indeed for a successful relationship- He is.
