Emerging from a deep slumber I pursue with purpose an uncontrollable urge to consume a mental and psychological boost with a liquid libation. This fluid not only restores my awareness to my surroundings, it gives my nervous system a jolt of hyperactivity. The aroma permeates the room with invitation to exclude my mind from all that is nasty and sweeps me into a world of creative and wondrous thought. Up to the kitchen counter my legs move me with determination and selfish intent. From the cupboard is acquired a small apparatus to contain this dark fluid.

Ah the clear craft has reached its full potential of raising the contents to premium temperature and ready for my acquisition. Now that the substance is now confined, my preferences require a different, more dense fluid to alter and enhance its character. Yet a crystalline element is also added to take the edge off my grumpiness.

To the table I transport this precious cargo and to my lips is raised the prepared well of enjoyment. The anticipation is overwhelming. Seems like forever to acquire fulfillment, but at last my taste buds are stimulated into extreme excitement. My eyes roll and my shoulders relax with a dose of acceptance.

Thank God for the invention of the ‘CUP’

This is great. It's short but had me smiling with your slightly sardonic sense of humor. I can't really relate as I think coffee is gross--actually drinking anything hot is distasteful to me--yet I believe most will be able to relate to the MC. Nicely done.
