Where does this idea come from? I am so glad you asked.
Jeremiah 29:11 reads; For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
God continues to inform us of our purpose as well.
According to the eternal purpose, which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Ephesians 3:11)
Ephesians 3:6-10 That the Gentiles should be fellow heirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel: Whereof I was made a minister, according to the gift of the grace of God given unto me by the effectual working of his power. Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ; And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ: To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God,
The apostle Paul is a prime example, as he fulfilled Gods plan, purpose, and destiny for his life.
He had two commissions.
1.) The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise. (Proverbs 11:30)
2.) And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand. (Matthew 10:7)
He manifested the kingdom of God in his life and ministry:
And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power: (1 Corinthians 2:4)
I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. (2 Timothy 4:7)
The first decision we need to make is; where do I want to spend eternity?
There is an eternity with Christ, or an eternity apart from Christ, known has eternal darkness and hell. Which one will you choose this day? Will you choose God’s plan, purpose and destiny for your life, or your plan, purpose and destiny? The choice is all yours.
Maybe the closing words will help you make the best decision for your life.
I command thee this day to love the LORD thy God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commandments and his statutes and his judgments, that thou mayest live and multiply: and the LORD thy God shall bless thee in the land whither thou goest to possess it. But if thine heart turn away, so that thou wilt not hear, but shalt be drawn away, and worship other gods, and serve them I denounce unto you this day, that ye shall surely perish, and that ye shall not prolong your days upon the land, whither thou passest over Jordan to go to possess it. I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live: That thou mayest love the LORD thy God, and that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto him: for he is thy life, and the length of thy days: that thou mayest dwell in the land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them. (Deuteronomy 30:16-20)
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. (John 14:6)
What must I do to be saved? Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. (Acts 16:30-31)
If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. (Romans 10:9-10)
The decision is yours! Which shall you choose is the question?

I wish I could see more of your instrumentation of the words or a way you had been comforted by them. It seems like most of your story is quotes from the Bible.
You're right the decision is ours. I hope many will read these words and be inspired by them.
