Slowly she lifted herself off the bed and headed into the bathroom. Her reflection in the mirror made her flinch. She looked awful! Her face was swollen from all the crying, and dark circles gave her the appearance of having two black eyes-fitting, she had been in the biggest battle of her life this last week.
Looking in the mirror, she didn’t even recognize herself. How could she go through with this? She didn’t believe in it. “It’s wrong!” Her heart shouted at her. But, how could she not go through with it? Everything was at stake: her relationship with Scott, her education, money, her parents…ugh, her parents. Angie closed her eyes and rubbed the anxious creases in her forehead. Her parents were going to kill her! And, yet, breaking through all her thoughts was the cry of her heart. With every beat it proclaimed again what Angie already knew. This choice was wrong. She would never be able to live it. She felt so stuck, so alone.
Angie jumped as her phone beeped twice, signifying a text message. Walking over to the night stand she glanced at the screen. It was Scott.
“Just wanted to make sure you were up. Don’t forget about your appointment today. I took the time to make it, and gave you the money. Get there. This is what is best for your future…our future.”
Big tears welled up in Angie’s eyes. This is what Scott kept preaching, what she kept telling herself, yet, deep down she had doubts…big doubts. More than anything she wanted him to tell her that it would be o.k., that they could do this, and that he would be there. Those texts and phone calls didn’t come.
An hour later she was in her car pulling out the little scrap piece of paper where she had scribbled the clinic’s address. Slowly she drove out of her driveway. Her radio was set on the Christian station. She wasn’t paying much attention until Laura Story’s “Blessings” came on. That was the pebble that broke the dam. Huge sobs shook her body.
“God, I don’t even know how to pray. This is wrong. All of it. I’ve made so many bad choices. I haven’t listened to you. And, now, here I am in a mess bigger than I know how to work through. Please, I need a miracle, a token that you are with me, that I can do this, that you’ll help me.”
She finished praying. The song ended. The car was silent the rest of the way.
She pulled into the parking lot of a small white building. She picked up her purse and slowly walked to the door, every step harder than the last.
The receptionist smiled up at her with such warmth, it took her off guard. The warmth of that smile, mixed with what this place did, just didn’t make sense.
“My name is Angie Roberson. I have a ten o’clock appointment.”
The woman checked her computer, told Angie to have a sit, and slipped behind a door.
After only a few minutes a different lady opened the door and motioned for Angie to follow her back. She took Angie to a small room with a couch and a couple chairs and asked her to have a seat.
“Angie, my name is Carol. How can we help you today?”
“Umm,” Angie looked down at her purse. She couldn’t make eye contact. “I’m here for an abortion.” She spoke so soft she wasn’t sure she had even said it out loud.
“Angie, we are not an abortion clinic.”
Angie’s head shot up. She was very confused.
The woman looked into her eyes. “We are a pro-life center. Angie, we are here to help you. You have an appointment at the abortion clinic, but, God had an appointment for you here. He has a plan for you, Angie. He loves you. And He loves the baby He gave you.”
Angie began to cry. Something like relief rushed over her, and peace.
“Will you stay, Angie, and let us help you?” The woman looked so sincere, so kind.
“Yes, I will.” Angie replied. God had given her a miracle.

My little red ink is okay should be written out or both letters capitalized-OK.
Nice job of writing on topic while delivering a great message.
Amazing how the Lord will bring about "different pathways" for a different outcome. Loved it.
God Bless~
