Just checking in. I have a big gig in Las Vegas tomorrow night…sellout crowd! Any suggestions for me?

Just the usual: charisma is more important than content. Have you studied your audience and determined what they want to hear?

This is one of the best crowds I’ve drawn yet. Believe it or not, it’s a church convention!

A church convention in sin city…that’s rich. You must handle this sort of crowd very judiciously. Tell me, how did you manage to hit such a jackpot?

Oh, you know the old line: they didn’t come for the gambling, they came for the shows. LOL. And they have plans to do some sort of ministry on the strip to justify their presence. I’m still working on my message, but I’ve got my charisma all geared up for the show. Got my casual chic wardrobe tapped, shoe lifts in place, haircut just brushing the collar with that flop over one eye look, been practicing my self-deprecating jokes and one-liners, and workin’ on the love!

Good! Stick with the “love trumps all” message and keep focused on all those souls for sale to the highest bidder. Bid love over truth, tolerance over judgment, guilt over sin, mercy over righteousness, and you are sure to snag some high roller sellouts.

Checking back in. They don’t call you Father Of Lies for nothing…your advice was priceless. I landed a couple of deacons in jail for public intoxication, another few for taking my message of love quite literally, but of course my luckiest strike was rolling delicious deceptions into brains given over to roulette wheel philosophizing: spin the brain cells and see which thought feels good today.

You did an admirable job for a Deceiver In Training, but don’t cash all your chips in yet. The Final Cashier has a way of sneaking back in to reclaim some of His worst sellouts.
