Will I miss the fragrance of jasmine on hot August nights; will the earth still have any jasmine to smell?
Will I have mattered; will anyone care, about the life that I lived while I was a stranger on the earth?
Will my name be carried by stories earnestly repeated, of God’s grace glimmering through the presence that was me?
Or will the memory of me lay low in the dust, lost in a pile of ancient photos, hidden, unceremoniously forgotten?
One hundred years from now I’ll be dead, but only to this world, for I will be in heaven and eternally alive. God willing.
Will I miss the fragrance of jasmine on hot August nights; will the earth still have any jasmine to smell?
Will I have made a lasting impression to those left in this world full of suffering?
Will God be pleased with His servant, as flawed, and forgetful, and fiercely in love with Him as she is?
Responses to these ponderings matter, but what I’d really like to know is this:
Would the responses be different if for some reason, I died today?
